At Stannah Lift Services in Norwich we aim to provide complete solutions to your horizontal and vertical transportation needs. We provide nationwide sales, supply, installation and maintenance of escalators and moving walkways as Stannah Escalators and Moving Walkways UK division operates from the Norwich Branch and is managed by Ian Carter.
Our core business is the provision of lift services – that’s maintenance, repair and breakdown of all types of lifts from all manufacturers by our directly employed and highly experienced team of service engineers. We also provide be-spoke lift modernisation and lift refurbishment services for major clients, often taking on the role of principal or sub-contractor to refurbish the general environment, the lift shaft and the motor room. We can provide special lifts for demanding situations, any size, travel and drive system. Our lift expertise really can provide you with your transportation solutions.

News from around the East Anglia area:
Stannah's comprehensive product range clinches retail contract
Stannah have won a contract to supply and install a Stannah Escalator VVVF and a 630kg 2 stop Stannah Passenger Lift to serve a mezzanine floor within Glasswells World of Furniture in Norwich.
Glasswells are an existing customer of the Stannah Norwich Service Branch who currently maintain an existing passenger lift and a goods lift at the store. The company are refurbishing the store to include a mezzanine sales floor with access via an escalator, or for customers unable to use an escalator, a passenger lift.
The addition of mezzanine floor levels is an ideal way of increasing retail space within an existing outlet. Stannah are able to supply escalators, moving walkways, passenger lifts, platform and goods lifts and provide local after-sales care for all products from their nationwide branch network.
Network Rail
The Norwich Branch are currently refurbishing station lifts across the East of England for Network Rail. The nationwide modernisation programme, to Network Rail Specifications, meets the requirements of the Lifts Directive (95/16/EC)1995, BS5655 and EN81-80.
Current work includes:

One very large passenger lift refurbishment at Harwich Port
Mobile Communications
Stannah Lift Services operate a mobile communications system that enables the branch offices to be in touch with their traveling engineers all day, every day. Each engineer carries a laptop which displays all scheduled work for each week.
The engineer is able to fill in his log on completion of each site and send the information directly to the office for processing. A huge advantage of the system is the reduction in paperwork. The ability to be in direct contact with the engineers means emergency call-outs can be met even more quickly as it is possible to quickly locate the nearest engineer and be aware of his workload. Then, if necessary, schedules can be re-arranged to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved for our customers.
Apprentices and Trainees
Stannah Lift Services have a nationwide policy of providing Engineering Apprenticeships. At Norwich we currently have two apprentice engineers who attend college for periods of full and part-time education. A further apprenticeship will be offered in 2008.
