Liam Raftery – Northern Sales and Operations Manager

Liam began his career with Stannah in 1987 as a Lift Engineer and progressed quite rapidly through the ranks to be a Senior Engineer before progressing into Sales. In 1998 he became Branch Manager of Stannah Lift Services in Stockport, close to his beloved Manchester United. Then in 2004 Liam took on the management of the Gateshead Branch too. In 2007 Liam was appointed Northern Sales and Operations Manager overseeing  the work in Stockport, Gateshead and Glasgow branches of Stannah Lift Services.

In addition to all his responsibilities in 2008 Liam gained an MBA in Business Management!

Billy Murdoch – Service Supervisor

Billy joined Stannah in Glasgow in 2002 but joined the lift industry in 1967 as an apprentice lift engineer. In 1972 he began 10 years of field experience in various lift companies before moving to Pretoria, S. Africa in 1982 where he worked as a lift engineer until 1994. On his return to Scotland, Billy continued his career with two more lift companies before joining Stannah. Billy has also completed IOSH Managing safely.Billy currently looks after 3 Field Supervisors and 3 engineering teams who are benefiting from his extensive experience in the industry.

Gordon Stevenson – Technical Sales Engineer

Gordon joined Stannah in 2000 but has been in the industry for over 35 years. He has been developing the branch major lift refurbishment and installation work, along with minor industrial repairs. The Network Rail major refurbishment at Glasgow Central has kept Gordon very busy during 2005 and with many more refurbishment projects planned across Scotland 2006 looks to be even busier!

Jane Brown – Branch Administration Supervisor

Jane has recently received her 10 year service award. As Administration Supervisor Jane looks after a team of administrators whose task is to keep the office running smoothly. Stannah’s Mobile Communications has significantly changed the processes recently, making liaison with engineers out all over Scotland possible on an hour by hour basis. Jane is responsible for the monitoring of all jobs, invoicing, credit control, branch reporting, Network Rail customer liaison and, occasionally, customer complaints. Jane has NVQ3 in Customer Service and an HNC in Management. She has been married for six years.

Brian Harkins – Field Supervisor, Major Repairs

Brian has been with Stannah since 2000 but in the lift industry for more than 20 years, all in Scotland. He looks after a team of six, including two apprentices. Although new to the role Brian has successfully completed and handed over 3 lift refurbishment projects to Network Rail in 2005. Brian’s experience will be called upon as the lift installtion and refurbishment side of the business continues to flourish.

Stevie Graham – Field Supervisor, Domestic Service and Repair

Stevie has experience as a storeman, mate, driver, stairlift installer and service engineer, goods lifts installer and engineer, installer and maintenance engineer across a whole range of lifting equipment to help disabled people and progressed to become a passenger lifts engineer. Since being with Stannah, Stevie first worked as a stairlift installation supervisor and now looks after all domestic service and repairs, passing his extensive experience onto his team of seven.
