Almost certainly. We need only about 27" (690mm) to install a straight stairlift, or about 29" (740mm) for a curved model, though local codes sometimes require a wider staircase. The user's knees generally take up the most room, which is one reason we really need to take a look at the staircase and the user before quoting. close>> |

Installation usually takes leass than a day. Because the stairlift is attached to the stair treads, not to the wall, the process is quick, clean and simple. Before the installers leave they will tidy up behind them, test the stairlift thoroughly and show you exactly how to operate it. close>> |

Your local dealer will usually have any straight stairlift in stock for immediate delivery. If not, we carry a full stock in Massachusetts for immediate shipment. Curved stairlifts are custom-made, and this typically takes about five weeks anywhere in the US or Canada. If you need something quicker than this, your local dealer may be able to supply a temporary straight stairlift, if the situation allows this to be done safely. close>> |

Yes. The Stannah 260 is the most versatile stairlift for narrow stairs with tight turns. We can also accomodate spirals, intermediate landings, off-stair parking and stairs with low overhead clearance. close>> |

Occasionally this works, but generally a curved-rail stairlift is a much better answer. It allows you to travel all the way up the stairs in one journey without stopping (which is safer), and usually the chair can be parked in a better place than if you have two straight stairlifts - so it takes up less room. Although straight stair lifts may cost less initially, in the long you'll save money by doing it right first time. close>> |

Stannah stairlifts are battery powered and will continue to work during a power outage, typically providing a dozen to twenty round trips without recharging. When the power comes back on, the batteries recharge automatically. close>> |

Our stairlifts need a regular 110V, household outlet in the US and Canada. The stairlift uses very little power to trickle-charge the battery, so it can share an outlet with most other appliances. For indoor stairlifts, the outlet needs to be within 10 feet of the staircase, and should be on the same side of the stairs as the stairlift. For an outdoor stairlift the outlet needs to be in a dry location within 100' of the staircase. Please consult your local dealer for specific details. close>> |

Depending on usage, your battery should last between 3 to 5 years. The battery can be replaced in a few minutes by a technician. close>> |
