Stannah Coast and Castles


Twelve intrepid cyclists (and an invitee) made their weekend off from 29 June to 1 July a productive one, by taking on a 204-mile sponsored cycle ride in aid of the Specialist Baby Care Ward at Newcastle R.V.I. Hospital. The team are colleagues at Stannah Stairlifts in Newburn, where they make the curved rails for the world-leading Stannah stairlift. The invited one was Managing Director, Tim Eagles, who is based in Andover, Hampshire and was delighted to have the opportunity to join his staff team on the ride. The team, ranging in age from early 20s to late 40s, took on the Coast and Castle route from Edinburgh to Newcastle.

Social care report unearths £625m savings for British taxpayers


A new report has revealed that a staggering £625m of taxpayers’ money
could be saved if more appropriate provision was made for people needing home adaptations.  The report’s authors presented the findings to leading parliamentarians and industry figures in Parliament this morning.

Stannah stairlift helps open up Dumfries House, East Ayrshire


In time for the Spring opening season on 4th April, the magnificent 250 year old Dumfries House

in Ayrshire has been fitted with a special addition to add to its historic furnishings.

An iconic Stannah Stairlift has been installed on the stately home’s grand staircase, helping the less able-bodied to explore the first floor of the Adam-designed building.

Aired on Monday 19th March 2012 on BBC1 and hosted by South Today’s Sally Taylor the debate touched on both the personal effects of the current economic crisis and the challenges business are facing.

Stannah defies trend to show a bright future for UK industry

21 February 2011: World-leading stairlift manufacturer Stannah Group has today signalled a healthy future for British manufacturing, as its 500,000th stairlift rolls off the manufacturing line.

The occasion was marked during a special visit to Stannah’s Andover-based factory by HRH The Prince of Wales and the day became a celebration of the firm’s success in building a leading global brand which carries the stamp of British industry to the four corners of the globe.

Scottish Local Authorities award Stannah £6M+ groundbreaking contract


17 January 2011: World leading stairlift manufacturer Stannah has broken another record after being awarded its largest ever contract
to supply six local authorities in Scotland.

Worth more than £2 million per year, the three-year contract covers the supply and installation, maintenance, removal and refurbishment of stairlifts, step lifts and through-the-floor lifts.   It will see Stannah deliver over 800 lifts per year to residents in Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire, South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.

Stannah fundraising effort makes perfect Sense


A team of six plucky individuals from Stannah in Scotland threw caution to the wind to support a fantastic cause, Sense Scotland. The charitable organisation, who work with and support deaf, blind and disabled children and adults right across Scotland were organising a Team Rapids Challenge that inspired Graham Barr, Stannah Branch Manager into action.
