Troubleshooting Stannah Stairlift Problems
These videos will show you how to fix the problem. Usually it's easy.
Use this menu to jump to the video you need:
- Try this first (the “turn all the switches on”)
- The powered footrest won’t fold up or down
- The stairlift is beeping
- Your stairlift is showing a “3” in the window on the side
- Your stairlift is showing a “4” in the window on the side
- Your stairlift is showing a “5” in the window on the side
- Your stairlift is showing an “8” or the letter “h” in the window on the side
- Your stairlift is showing an “1”, “9” or “F” in the window on the side, or the symbol in the window is flashing or blank

Footrest won't fold

Code 3
If you have a straight stairlift (not one what goes around corners), and you can see the number "3" in the window on the side of the carriage, watch this video to solve the problem.
Code 4
If you have a straight stairlift (not one what goes around corners), and you can see the number "4" in the window on the side of the carriage, watch this video to solve the problem.
Code 5
If you have a straight stairlift (not one what goes around corners), and you can see the number "5" in the window on the side of the carriage, watch this video to solve the problem.
Code 8 or "H"
If you have a straight stairlift (not one what goes around corners), and you can see the number "4" or the letter "H" in the window on the side of the carriage, watch this video to solve the problem.
Code 1, 9, F, a flashing code or no code at all
If you have a straight stairlift (not one what goes around corners), and you can see the number "1" or "9", or an "F" in the window on the side of the carriage, watch this video to solve the problem. This is also the video to watch if the symbol in the window is flashing, or there's no symbol at all.
