Look for the complete package
When choosing a stairlift, it’s important to look at the complete package not just the initial price. Ensure you are getting a comprehensive warranty, robust aftercare services, and essential safety features like an easy-swivel seat as standard.
For example, if your balance is not the best, look for smart design features that allow the footrest to be folded via a link to the arm or seat, or even better, via an automatic button in the arm, rather than having to bend down.
Additionally, because every home is different, your staircase may require minor preparation before installation, such as moving a radiator. Your Stannah consultant will always walk you through these layout details clearly so you have total clarity on your custom package.

Professional advice
Make sure that you choose to purchase a stairlift manufacturer that has a British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) accreditation, with OFT Code of Conduct approval. They assure you of the integrity of the company you are dealing with and the service you receive.
Another good way of assessment is checking which awards and accreditations the stairlift provider may already have.
An impartial guide
