Straight stairlifts
Seamlessly travel upstairs and downstairs with our stairlifts for straight stairs
Are my stairs suitable for a straight stairlift?
Stairlifts for straight stairs are suitable for homes with straight staircases that have no turns or bends and consist of just one straight flight of stairs.
We can usually install your straight stair lift on either side of your staircase, depending on the fit and your personal needs. As the stairlift only travels in straight lines, no substantial building work is required as the rail is attached directly to the stair tread, rather than the wall.
Our stairlift rails are customisable to your staircase, we cut the rails to fit the exact length of your stairs, so you don't have to worry if your staircase is longer or deeper than average.
A perfectly practical fit for your home
When it comes to moving around your house with safety and comfort, a stairlift is a practical solution for effortlessly overcoming mobility limitations.
Having a stairlift installed can help to renew your sense of independence and allow you to once again enjoy the home you know and love without making any drastic structural changes or moving home entirely.
There are also a range of additional features we can install to our various stairlift models to make sure you have everything you need. These can be identified in our free home surveys, which help to find cost-effective solutions for your straight stairlift.

Straight stairlift benefits
We’ve been manufacturing stairlifts for nearly 50 years. That’s given us time to perfect our stairlifts to make them the safest and most comfortable out there. It’s the little things that make all the difference.

No building work and no mess
Because our stairlifts are installed on your stairs, not your walls. That means maximum security and minimum damage to your house. And it’s quick.

Slimline rails take up less space
Our rails are narrower than you’d expect. They’re barely noticeable on your staircase, leaving plenty of room for everyone else to use your stairs comfortably.

Quick delivery and installation
Stannah is a leading stairlift manufacturer, providing stairlifts in over 40 countries. Once you order your stairlift, you can be sure it will be with you quickly, and we can often install it in less than a day, with no building work.

Fully customisable to match your needs
The rail fits your stairs, but the chair must fit your needs. Whatever you need for maximum comfort in your home, we adjust the little things that’ll make a big difference to you.

Made to fit your home
Whether you’ve spent years or decades in your home, you’ve made it your own. And you can do the same with your stairlift by choosing the color and upholstery that suits you best.

Easy to put away
Your stairlift folds away neatly - just lift up the seat and armrests and flip up the footrest automatically with the push of a button. That means no bending over, making you safer in your home.

Simple, straightforward and safe
During the design testing phase, our straight stairlifts cover approximately 143 miles of straight stairlift tracks to ensure optimal reliability and the smoothest of rides.
Thanks to quality manufacturing and easy-to-use controls, you can rest assured that your stairlift will safely take you from A to B without complication.
Optional extras are also available with our straight stairlifts, including a variety of seatbelt options and a Powered Easy-Turn. Feel free to contact our team to find out more about these extras and how they impact our stairlift prices.

Chairlift or stairlift. What’s the difference?
Sometimes stairlifts are referred to as chairlifts. For most people, a chairlift would be something associated with a ski resort or possibly an amusement park. Sometimes lifts designed to carry wheelchairs are also referred to as chair lifts. However, because a stairlift is essentially a motorised chair that travels up and down the stairs on a rail, you could be forgiven for using this terminology when talking about a stairlift.
