FAQs
What is the lifespan of a stairlift?
Stairlifts generally last around ten years, although this varies depending on usage and other factors. Service regularly to get the most out of your stairlift and ensure any problem is identified and addressed quickly.
How often should stair lifts be serviced?
We would advise that a stairlift should be serviced every 12 months by a reputable stairlift service provider.
Do stairlifts need servicing?
Any machine with moving parts can become damaged over time from repeated use, dust, dirt or general wear and tear. As stairlifts provide such an important function, bringing independence and freedom to users, regular servicing is important to avoid breakdowns and keep the lift running reliably.
How quickly can a stairlift engineer get to me?
Our branches are available during office hours to assist with breakdowns or queries. A 24/7 emergency UK helpline is available should you require assistance outside of this. If your issue is an emergency, we will prioritise your callout, and an engineer will typically attend in less than 4 hours. Otherwise, we will arrange an appointment time convenient to you. (Please note charges may apply)
What is the difference between a service contract and a warranty?
A warranty protects against manufacturing errors for a period after the sale and is included in the purchase price. After the warranty expires, you can take out a service contract. A contract covers regular servicing and ongoing support to keep your lift running smoothly, fixing issues as they arise and maintaining the equipment, which can prevent problems from arising altogether.
