The stairlift buying process
With a Stannah stairlift, you'll discover again
- The freedom of being able to use your entire home again
- Popping upstairs to pick items up will no longer be an issue
- You have more energy to do the things you enjoy most

It’s not just what we sell that we take great care of, how we sell, deliver and service is just as important to us – and you. From the moment you contact us, we will do everything we can to make sure your experience at every step of your purchase lives up to the Stannah name.
On the first call, we will ask you a few questions about your staircase and yourself. That will help us understand your needs and the kind of stairlift that best fit your needs. We understand that everyone’s stairs are a little different but don’t worry - our stairlifts fit both straight staircases and curved.
If you need more information or would like a quote we’ll arrange for one of our sales consultants to come and visit you in your home so they can give you advice specific to you and your home.
Check out the three easy steps to get your own Stannah stairlift.
1. Assessment
1. Firstly, our consultants will talk to you to understand your individual needs as everyone’s stairs are a little different.
2. Next, they will measure your staircase. That will help them determine what type of rail is needed and if any preparatory work is required at the bottom or top of the stairs - such as installing an extra power point or removing furniture/radiators.
3. Then you can customise your stairlift. We have a wide range of upholstery fabrics and finishes, swivel seats and extra features you can choose from to match your style.

2. Quote and order
1. Once our consultant has all the information, they will provide you with an accurate no-obligation stairlift quote. We will make sure that all necessary adjustments are included in your quotation, from any works needed to all any extra features added.
2. You can then decide in your own time, whether you would like to go ahead and order. The cost of a stairlift depends on the exact specifications of your home and the features you have selected. Just remember, the price we quote will be the price you pay, with no hidden extras.
3. Once you decide to order with us we’ll ask you for a deposit.
3. Production and installation
1. Your order is now in production, and we'll liaise with you to find a suitable date for the stairlift installation.
2. Please bear in mind that our stairlifts and rails are customised for your staircase. You can find out more information on installation timescales here.
3. On the installation day, our stairlift engineers will arrive at the agreed time. The installation usually takes up to two hours. There might be very little mess or disruption to your stairs as the stairlift is fitted to the steps and not the wall. Not to worry, as our engineers will clean after themselves, giving you peace of mind that your home will be left as tidy as they found it.
