Stannah stairlift removals
It can be difficult deciding what to do with a stairlift that is no longer needed. We’re here to help with any of your stairlift removal needs.

Removing your stairlift
We will responsibly remove the stairlift and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way, recycling parts wherever possible, as part of our dedication to sustainability.
If you purchased your stairlift directly from Stannah
To request the removal of a stairlift, please complete and submit the Stairlift removal form. Once received, our removals team will contact you within 7 working days to confirm next steps. The lead time for removal requests is currently between 6-8 weeks.
We can only provide buyback and removal services in locations where we install and supply stairlifts.
If you purchased your stairlift via a local authority or accredited distributor
To learn about your original supplier's removal policy, we advise you to get in touch with them directly. For further information, you can also send an email to stairliftorders@stannah.co.uk
*Please note that we are only able to offer our removal and buyback services in areas where we deliver and install stairlifts in England, Wales and Scotland, excluding the Scottish Highlands and Islands. We are unable to offer removal services in the following postcodes – AB/HS/IV/KW/PH18-50/ZE and PO30-41. If you are looking to have a stairlift removed in any of these areas, it's likely that the stairlift was purchased via a third party or one of our Accredited Distributors. Please contact them for assistance. A full list of our Accredited Distributors can be found here.
Removing a Stannah stairlift
If you no longer need a stairlift that was purchased directly from Stannah, our engineers can remove it for you, in just a few hours.
Submit your removal request using the form below.
Removing a non-Stannah stairlift
If you have a stairlift that was purchased from a different manufacturer, but have a service contract in place with us, our fully qualified engineers can safely remove and dispose of your stairlift for a fee of £450 (including VAT).
Unfortunately, if we don’t look after your stairlift under one of our service contracts, we cannot remove it for you and would suggest you contact your original supplier.

Buyback service on privately funded Stannah stairlifts
We may be able to buy back Stannah stairlifts that we have installed directly, provided they are in good condition, have been serviced by us regularly, are less than two years old and originally purchased as new. The buyback fees offered for our products that have been installed for less than 2 years can vary.

Temporary stairlift removal
There may be an occasion where you require the stairlift to be removed temporarily, perhaps to have the carpets replaced, do some decorating, or perhaps move large furniture from one floor to the other. We are happy to remove the stairlift for you in advance of any works and we'll put it back to its original position once the work is complete. This can sometimes be all within the same day, or we can store the stairlift for an agreed period and return it at a later date if needed.
Prices for this service can vary so please submit a removal request using the form below for a quotation and a member of our team will be in touch within 7 working days.

Relocating your stairlift when you move
If you are planning to move home, it may be possible to relocate your stairlift from your current property. We will arrange for one of our surveyors to inspect the new property to ensure that the staircase is suitable and safe for us to install your stairlift. This service is available on the following conditions;
- The stairlift has been covered by a Stannah warranty or service contract uninterrupted since you purchased it
- Your new property is based in the UK (in an area where we deliver and install stairlifts) and you are going to permanently live there
- You continue to own the stairlift (that is, you are not selling or transferring ownership of your stairlift)
Please fill out the removal form below for a quote and a member of our team will be in touch within 7 working days.
