Kate Sheehan

As a Director of KS Occupational Therapy Services, Kate provides consultancy services to businesses, retailers and manufacturers. She is also committed to delivering high-quality education and training for the next generation of occupational therapists, from undergraduate students to experienced practitioners.

Kate has presented her work on housing standards, inclusive design and equipment at prominent national and international events, including the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Annual Conference, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section Housing Conference, the World Federation of Occupational Therapists Congress in Sydney, Australia, and the New York Occupational Therapy Conference.

An active member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, Kate has used her professional platform to strengthen engagement with government and champion the value of occupational therapy in housing and the wider built environment.

She co-authored the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide, published by the Centre for Accessible Environments in March 2018, and served as a peer reviewer for The Inclusive Housing Design Guide 2024.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the profession, Kate was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists in 2022. In 2023, she received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Worcester for her significant contribution to occupational therapy.
