Curved Stair Lift Benefits
We’ve been manufacturing stairlifts for nearly 50 years. That’s given us time to perfect our stairlifts to make them the safest and most comfortable out there. It’s the little things that make all the difference.

Making safety our main priority
Each stairlift we make has an easy-to-use seatbelt and safety sensors. You can strap yourself in and know your lift comes to a gentle stop if there’s anything in its way.

Professional installation
All of our stairlift rails are assembled and tested prior to installation. So, we know that they will fit seamlessly, making the installation process quick & easy for our trained professionals.

A smoother ride
The electric motor of your stairlift carries it smoothly up and down the stairs. It stops, starts and accelerates smoothly, and it never jolts, so you’re safe from back injuries.

Designed for comfort
All our chairs are cushioned. The seat and the back of the chair are soft so that you can enjoy every ride. We’ve thought about the little things that make a big difference.

Plenty of options
The rail is what makes your stairlift fit your stairs, but it’s the chair that meets your needs. From different chairs to fabrics and colors, you can make your stairlift your own.

Taking up less space
The measurements of your stairs are taken so that the rail we build fits to every bend as snugly as possible. That means more room for everyone else to use the stairs easily.

Have a question?
Stairlifts with turns aren’t as simple as straight stairlifts, so it’s important to understand the factors you need to consider before you purchase one. Here are some questions we frequently get asked about stairlifts for stairs with turns.
What is the average price of a curved stairlift?
The industry price is £3,284, but there are a lot of factors that can affect the cost. Depending on the exact measurements of your staircase, you might see this price decrease or increase slightly. For example, a spiral staircase might be more difficult to manoeuvre a stairlift around when compared to a staircase with a single turn.
How long does it take to install a curved stairlift?
Each and every Stannah stairlift installation is unique, as we provide a bespoke service for every staircase we fit. However, we estimate that the average installation takes between 2 and 4 hours. Please note that for staircases with turns or in instances where we need to make prior alterations like moving a radiator, it may take us slightly longer.
Our engineers will always do their best to provide a speedy yet safe installation. And don’t worry about any mess – after the stairlift has been installed, they will clean up the surrounding area to ensure they leave it as they found it.
What is the difference between curved and straight stairlifts?
Straight stairlifts start at the top of the stairs and travel all the way down without turning. Curved stairlifts need to be able to turn corners in the staircase, and therefore require additional work to facilitate this movement.
How much does it cost to run a stairlift?
On average a Stannah stairlift costs around £25* in electricity per year to run, approximately 50p per week and less than a kettle.
*Based on average running costs and electricity prices as of October 2022.

Do you offer reconditioned curved stairlifts?
Yes, we offer refurbished stairlifts for curved and straight staircases. No matter which stairlift model you choose you’ll be benefitting from the high-quality manufacture, testing and safety features that come with a new Stannah stairlift.
