Top tips
- If you are home alone, we always recommend you carry a mobile phone to alert others if you need help.
- Keep your local Stannah service branch or supplier number handy for emergencies.
- It’s always a good idea to ask someone else to be around to help you troubleshoot.
- If your stairlift stops on the stairs, it’s best to stay seated and see if you can restart it or summon assistance. If you do have to get off, make sure you can do so safely, take it slowly, and ideally have someone to help you.
Have a question?
I need help with my lift; what can I do?
Our online troubleshooting guides here can help to resolve most common issues. Select your product and model, then follow the step-by-step advice. If you’re still experiencing issues, contact your local service branch so we can help you get things fixed.
How do you reset a stairlift?
To reset a stairlift all you need to do is turn off the power for 30 seconds, then turn the power back on again. Your stairlift settings should now be reset.
Will my stairlift work in a power cut?
Yes, our stairlifts will run during a power cut as they use an onboard battery which recharges when not in use. Fully charged batteries are reliable for at least 15 to 20 rides up and down your stairs, though if you have a powered swivel, you will need to use the manual swivel lever.
How can I identify a genuine Stannah engineer?
Stannah engineers will always carry identification with them, verifying that they are genuine. They will also arrive in Stannah workwear and a branded vehicle.
